Walton County EMA

The Walton County EMA coordinates strategic planning and preparedness activities with local stakeholders, develops plans, and conducts preparedness activities related to emergency management of natural and/or man-made disasters or other large-scale emergency incidents.

We provide management of EMA staff and volunteer personnel; supervise, guide, and direct work activities; develop, administer, and implement training and certification activities for volunteer groups.

Walton EMA also plans, prepares, and oversees response and mitigation activities; conducts threat assessments; assists county management in developing, implementing, and evaluating the local emergency operations plan; ensures the plan meets state and federal requirements; and communicates plan to county officials and departments, municipalities, community groups, and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).
