Walton Works / Educator Externship

The Development Authority of Walton County is excited to host the eighth annual Walton Works/CONNECT NEGA Educator Externship from June 1–5, 2026—a special ALL-STAR edition celebrating educators who have previously completed the program and gone on to implement meaningful workforce initiatives in their schools. Applications will be available in January 2026.

This one-of-a-kind experience connects local educators with area employers for a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at career pathways and the skills needed in today’s workforce. Over five days, selected educators immerse themselves in the local economy, touring industrial sites, meeting company leaders, and shadowing employees in key roles. These firsthand experiences help educators better understand the skills and training students need to succeed in today’s workforce.

This externship is designed to be both meaningful and interactive—strengthening the connection between education and industry, and ultimately helping prepare Walton County students for the future.
